Discover Insights

Practical insight into personality, communication and recurring patterns at work.

Sometimes you already know what you want to do differently, but changing the pattern is harder.

Discover Insights brings together three different perspectives on personality to help you understand more about how you communicate, what may motivate familiar responses and what can change for you under pressure.

The aim is greater self-awareness you can connect to your work, leadership, relationships or a current challenge, without reducing you to a personality label.

This may be useful if...

  • you know what you want to do differently but keep falling back into the same response or behaviour
  • pressure changes the way you communicate, make decisions or relate to other people
  • certain working relationships feel much harder or more draining than others
  • you find yourself repeatedly overthinking, avoiding or second-guessing situations
  • confidence, boundaries or the need to get things right keep appearing in similar situations
  • you are taking on greater leadership responsibility and want to understand yourself more deeply
  • you want to understand your strengths without being reduced to a personality label

Your Stress Bucket

Stress is a given for every professional, but our abilities to cope with stress depends on a number of factors:

  1. How big your stress bucket is – some personality types can thrive on a degree of stress and so they have a larger stress bucket
  2. How many ‘taps’ you have filling your bucket at once and how fast the ‘flow’ of water is – i.e. how many stressful things are happening to you at once and how serious the concerns are
  3. How many ‘holes’ or release valves you have in the bucket – i.e. what effective coping mechanisms do you have

One process, three perspectives

No single personality model explains the whole person.

Discover Insights brings together three complementary perspectives to help build a richer picture of the patterns that may be relevant to you.

DiSC helps us explore observable behaviour and communication preferences, including how you approach problems, people, pace and structure.

Enneagram adds insight into some of the motivations and drivers that may sit underneath familiar behaviour.

Attachment at Work can help us explore patterns around trust, reassurance, independence and connection in working relationships.

We use these as ways of exploring your experience, not as fixed labels or explanations for everything you do.

Explore each perspective

DiSC, Enneagram and Attachment at Work each offer a different perspective. Together, they help build a richer picture of the patterns that may be relevant to you.

DiSC Personality Profiling

A DiSC personality test forms one of the three parts of the Discover Insights assessment tool.
This assessment looks at your behaviours and specifically how you deal with problems and challenges; people and contacts; pace and consistency and procedures and constraints.

Enneagram

Underneath our behaviours are emotional drivers which are assessed as part of the Discover Insights assessment tool through an individual’s Enneagram type. This assessment will explore whether you are more concerned with feeling a sense of safety, being liked or loved, or having a sense of control over your environment.

Attachment at Work

At the core of personality is a persons attachment style which forms the basis of sub-conscious beliefs and is the final part of the Discover Insight assessment tool. This attachment style test looks at how you view relationships from the perspective of intimate connection, independence and how you communicate your needs and feelings.

How Discover Insights works

You complete three complementary assessments covering DiSC, Enneagram and Attachment at Work.

I then review your information and prepare the reports, looking particularly at the areas that appear most useful in the context of your work, relationships, leadership or whatever has prompted you to explore this now.

We then have a 45 to 60-minute online guided interpretation conversation. Rather than simply sending you a set of reports and leaving you to make sense of them, we talk through what stands out, what feels accurate, what doesn’t and how the different perspectives connect with your own experience.

Your reports are yours to keep afterwards.

Understanding Each Other at Work

A practical team process using Discover Insights to help people understand themselves and one another better, communicate more effectively and strengthen the way they work together.

People will experience communication, pressure, decisions and relationships differently. Difficulties can arise when we assume colleagues see things in the same way we do.

Each participant completes their own Discover Insights process and has an individual guided conversation before we come together for a facilitated team session tailored to that particular team.

The aim is greater understanding, fewer unnecessary assumptions and one or two practical changes in how people communicate and work together.
