Many other online test platforms which are available online simply provide you computer generated reports that can be automatically emailed out straight away. At Discover Insights every report is put together for you as an individual by a personality specialist. This means the reports take a little bit more time to get to you, but the information you get will be more unique to you.
Our unique testing software allows you to buy one or more reports at any one time, with built in discounts if you buy two or more. If you purchase one individual test and report initially then you are of course welcome to come back to the site and purchase another one for the same price of £48 or you can take advantage of the offer and buy the other two for £90.
The reports are designed as a tool for self-reflection and so written in a way that avoids any jargon or psychological terms. It is intended that you can read each one yourself and discover some insights into your own personality that are helpful in both understanding yourself and others. For those that are looking for practical ways to take those insights into account to improve their life and/or their relationships we offer one to one online coaching support, you can book your slot here.
The simple answer is that there is no one ‘best’ personality test, it really depends on what you are wanting to explore. If you are considering what type of job role is best suited to you or are new to personal development then DiSC personality profiling is a good starting point as it is perhaps one of the simplest to understand. For those that are looking to deepen their self-awareness and explore more about why they behave the way they do then Enneagram is a natural next step or addition to the DiSC test. For those that are wanting to enhance their relationships then taking an Attachment Styles test will add a greater depth of understanding.
There are two commonly used personality tests that are used within the workplace and they are Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBti) and DiSC personality profiling. They are used in a variety of ways but often MBTi is used as part of leadership training and development. However, it is a fairly complicated system, with 16 different types of people, which means that many people don’t remember their MBTi type if asked later. In contrast however DiSC personality profiling is both simpler to remember because at a basic level there are only 4 types of people and so it is easier to use in the workplace. It can help matching job roles and responsibilities to the right person, fostering a greater understanding between colleagues and even in managing conflict.
There can be some fluctuations in which personality traits people make use of in which circumstances which can affect the intensity of different levels of the individual DiSC profile traits for example. However the core profile in terms of which traits form the personality are unlikely to change. With Enneagram we can learn to adopt the traits of other types our core pattern or type is unlikely to change and will still be influencing our behaviour. This is the same for Attachment styles in that we can create other types of attachments to different people but our default attachment style is not believed to change and is what we revert to when under distress.
Absolutely, the first step to understanding why you feel anxious or stressed in certain situations is to understand your personality and it’s different layers which these tests can help you to discover. When we understand our motivators, fears and underlying beliefs then we can begin to learn how to adapt some of our behaviours which can empower us to make positive changes for success.
Each individual test should take no more than 10-15 minutes to complete. The best results come when you don’t try to overthink each individual answer and simply select based on instinct.
Each of these tests have been grounded in the psychology of personality since the 20th Century and have been designed based on scientific research that is continually reviewed and updated. This means that you can trust that the information in them is both reliable and valuable.
